Elephant Safaris In Zimbabwe

Memorable And Ethical Elephant Encounter

Enjoy unforgettable elephant safaris in Zimbabwe with our remarkable elephants after their day out in the African landscape. Get up close to Africa’s giants.

Our Elephants

Meet our elephants after their day out feeding and living free.

In September 2021, we welcomed three beautiful female elephants — Chitora, Mungwezi, and Chinja — into our care. Orphaned as calves due to drought and domesticated early in life, they needed a safe new sanctuary when their previous home became unviable.

Today, they roam freely across our vast estate under the watchful care of experienced handlers, returning each evening to their elephant boma, where guests can meet them in a natural and respectful way. We strive to ensure that they continue with the daily patterns they’ve had all their lives. Roaming during the day to feed, meeting guests for a short controlled period in the evening and then a night resting in their boma and feeding on the treats left out for them.

Spending time with these gentle giants is awe-inspiring. Guests may feed the elephants, stand beside them, and connect with their individual stories and personalities. Our guides share the challenges they’ve overcome and explain the vital role elephants play in African ecosystems.

Every interaction is ethical and prioritizes their well-being, ensuring they continue to thrive.

Note that rewilding domesticated elephants is a near impossible task. They don’t have a larger herd, a tribe, with a matriarch to teach them the ways of the world. When they were much younger, they were encouraged to try join a new herd, but this ultimately failed. For such highly social animals, they do not easily accept newcomers into the fold.

Overnight Camping

For small groups seeking something truly unique, we also offer overnight camping beside the elephant boma.

Enjoy sundowners and a simple bush dinner around the campfire before retiring to your camping bed. Drift off beneath the stars while listening to the elephants’ nocturnal sounds – a magical experience you will never forget.

Meeting Chitora, Mungwezi, and Chinja is not only an incredible experience, but it also directly supports their care and contributes to broader elephant conservation in Zimbabwe.

Leave inspired by their resilience and the importance of protecting the habitat and world of these incredible animals for future generations.

This is an experience for no more than 4 guests and is weather dependent.
