Carmine Spectacle
Introducing a new guided tour from Cawston Encounters to the breeding grounds of the beautiful Carmine bee-eater.

The tour includes a two-night stay at Cawston’s beautiful tented safari camp with all meals and soft drinks, a day trip to the Carmine breeding site, a visit to our Vulture Bistro hide, and optional bird-viewing on Cawston itself.

Note that the Carmine breeding colony exists on a mine dump. Booking these safaris encourages sensible mining as the owners then understand better the value of the birds.
Cost: US$550 per person
- Airport transfer is available at an extra fee of US$100 per person.
- Please book your flights to arrive no later than 3pm on starting day of safari.
- Departure flights should leave in the afternoon of the last day of birding safari.
